Caring for your flowers
To plant your flower, dig a hole about 10” deep, and place your flower in, filling around with dirt. Push down on the copper “elbow” that connects the flower head to the copper stem. Avoid putting pressure on the leaves or on the flower head.
The copper stem has been treated with flux so that it will develop a patina in the weather. The flux is a bit greasy, so handle with care. Carrying it by the “elbow” works well.
To transport it in your car, place it face down for more stability.
Like anything outside in direct sun, the painted color will fade somewhat over time. In dappled light, the colors will fade more slowly. It is fine to leave you leave the flowers out during the winter, but if it snows, brush off any snow that might accumulate, to avoid damage to the paint.
